The following are the books that I’ve been using in my studies.

General Reference

For the Hebrew text I use the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia.

Most (but not all) translations are from the JPS Tanakh (1985 version).

When translating myself, I use the help of the Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew English Lexicon.

For classical commentators such as Rashi, Rashbam, Ibn Ezra, Radak, and Ramban I use the Bar Ilan Responsa Database (Version 16).

For ancient Near Eastern material I turn to The Context of Scripture (edited by William W. Hallo).

For general Bible reference I turn to the Anchor Bible Dictionary (edited by D. N. Freedman).

When quoting the Septuagint (a.k.a. the LXX) I use The Septuagint with Apocrypha: Greek and English (Brenton).
